Day 1 - Flying from Honolulu to Japan

Wow... what a day! Today all of the eighth graders boarded a plane from Honolulu to Narita. Flight 295, eight hours long with no wifi! But luckily we all made it through the flight safely. So much excitement was in the air after landing. We all rushed out of the plane, ready to start our evening in Japan. After arriving at our hotel (Shinagawa Ex Inn), we had about a half an hour to settle in before we headed out to eat dinner. We all split up into small groups and ran off to explore the hotel (Shinagawa Prince).

Our small group went to the hotel's bowling alley and game center. There were many different types of arcade games and a large bowling alley. Almost every one of the girls spent several dollars on "purikura", which is a type of Japanese photo booth where you can enhance your facial features. The boys had a fun, but short game of bowling. After that, we all went to 7-11 to stock up on drinks and snacks for our stay at Shinagawa Ex Inn.

Overall, tonight was a great start to our trip, and we are looking forward to the rest of our stay here in Japan.
